Location

The Boundary House is an inviting country pub in Methley, West Yorkshire. Situated in the heart of the West Yorkshire village with picturesque views of the local cricket field and church, the pub is located on the A693 just off Junction 30 & 31 of the M62. Serving a host of neighbouring villages and towns including Oulton, Woodlesford, Kippax, Rothwell, Allerton Bywater, Garforth and Castleford the pub is only 20 minutes from Leeds by car.

Directions

Road

Travelling East on M62 Take junction 30 off M62 and head towards Rothwell on A642. Following signs to Castleford, turn right at first roundabout into Methley Lane (A639). The pub is situated on the right hand side approximately 1.5 miles down the road.

Travelling West on M62 Take Junction 31 off M62 and head towards Castleford on A655. At the second roundabout on Lumley Hill turn left. The pub is situation on the left hand side approximately two miles down the road.

Bus

The Boundary House is conveniently served by a bus stop situated right outside our front door. All services stop outside the pub. From Leeds take the 152, 189, 410 or 411. From Castleford take the 152 or 189. From Wakefield take the 189 and from Doncaster or Pontefract the 410 or 411. Local bus timetables are available on the Metro website or simply ask our helpful staff.

Founded in 1863 the neighbouring Methley Cricket Club hosts regular matches throughout the summer season. An integral part of our lovely small village, while away a summer’s day watching the cricket and then join us for a refreshing pint or delicious summer supper.

Walking

Situated on the famous Trans Pennine trail, bring your wellies and walking sticks to the Boundary House as there are plenty of routes with stunning natural beauty and history that are sure to work up an appetite close by. One of the greatest country houses of England set within a beautiful Capability Brown landscape of parkland - Temple Newsam is only 15 minutes by car from Methley. Also nearby is a National Trust site, Nostell Priory is an 18th century architectural masterpiece set in a landscape park and gardens.

Situated on the Trans Pennine trail, Methley is part of the South Yorkshire to Leeds section most recently called the Leeds Country Way.

Methley is just five miles away from Fairburn Ings, a beautiful bird reserve managed by the RSPB.
Dearne Valley, an urban landscape teaming with amazing wildlife is only fifteen miles away and makes an ideal day out for families.
